PhD council

The RIHS PhD Council represents the interests of PhD candidates within the Institute and acts as a liaison between the Institute's management team and its PhD candidates.

The Council has regular meetings with the Institute's scientific director and scientific managers. Furthermore, they participate in committees like the Training and Supervision Committee of the Institute, and have direct links with:

Through the Institute's website and via Newsletters and email the Council aims to provide the RIHS PhD candidates with relevant information about subjects that might be of interest to them, such as important rules and regulations, developments within the Institute, relevant courses and activities.

PhD retreat
The PhD Council organizes the annual two-day RIHS PhD retreat. The retreat provides an ideal opportunity to present study results or research plans to fellow PhD candidates. Furthermore, an interesting keynote speaker is invited and time is reserved for career and personal development via workshops/masterclasses. Besides the scientific content there will be plenty of opportunities to connect with PhD colleagues and the keynote speakers.

The council regularly organizes workshops for PhD candidates. Together with the PhD councils of other research institutes, Radboudumc-wide workshops are organized.

Social activities
Last but not least, the Council provides opportunities for PhD candidates to get to know each other by organising social activities and informative events like lectures, workshops or lunch meetings.
