Currently I am a PhD student at the department of physiology working with Prof. Peter Deen in understanding the molecular cause of lithium-induced Nephrogenic Diabetes Insipidus.

In my research we are trying to understand the molecular cause of lithium-induced Nephrogenic Diabetes Insipidus that is characterized by down regulation of AQP2 water channel in the principal cells of the collecting duct of the kidney. Understanding this process will allow the development of treatment that prevents the decrease of the water channel after lithium treatment.
