The thesis of dr. Emmy Fleuren was awarded 'Oncologieproefschrift van het jaar' (Best oncology thesis of the year)' of the Netherlands and Vlaanderen by the Nederlandse Vereniging voor Medische Oncologie (NVMO). This prize was awarded during the annual 'Oncologiedagen voor Nederland en Vlaanderen' at Papendal, Arnhem on 20 November 2015. Emmy Fleuren obtained her PhD degree on 22 December 2014 cum laude for her research on 'Targeting receptor tyrosine kinases in osteosarcoma and Ewing sarcoma'. This research was conducted at the department of Medical Oncology, in close collaboration with the department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine of the Radboudumc, within the RIMLS.
