After defending her thesis entitled: ‘Occupational Therapy for people with Parkinson’s disease: towards evidence-informed care’ on Thursday 11th February, Ingrid Sturkenboom attained her PhD degree with honors (Cum Laude).
Sturkenboom demonstrated that an individualized home-based occupational therapy intervention improved perceived daily functioning of parkinson’s patients. The total costs of the intervention group and the control group were similar, whereas institutional health care costs were significantly lower for the intervention group.
Ingrid and her promotion team thank the members of the Cum Laude committee for the positive feedback provided.
