Recently Radboudumc's Primary healthcare was listed second best after Oxford in the international ranking for Primary Health Care as compiled by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR). An exceptional position for a Dutch department. This annual list compiles global top 10’s per discipline.
Pim Assendelft, head of the department of Primary and Community Care, is not surprised: "In our discipline Nijmegen has always pushed for leadership plus we have a very good international reputation. We always perform pioneering work: be it in early development in research related to - for instance - multimorbidity, gender or chronic airway disease.”
“Our work”, Pim continues, “has put the general practitioner on the map as the specialist in patient-oriented, integrated healthcare. This fits perfectly with the motto of our department: ‘Generalism is our speciality’.”
