KiKa grant on multiclonality in acute lymphoblastic leukemia

Kuiper , Roland

Roland Kuiper from the Dept. of Human Genetics, received a KiKa grant of € 566,000 to study the role of multiclonality in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) on therapy resistance and relapse development.

Together with Frank van Leeuwen and Peter Hoogerbrugge from the Dept. Pediatric Oncology, and Alex Hoischen from the Dept. of Human Genetics, he will characterize the properties of relapse-initiating cells in ALL, and will provide novel strategies for the implementation of next generation sequencing technology in future routine diagnostics and relapse prediction at diagnosis.
